City of Culture
Norwich is one of four cities shortlisted to become the UK's first City of Culture in 2013, a prestigious title which would provide a major boost for tourism and attract new investment to the county. Some estimates suggest it could generate up to £200m for the economy of the winning city.
Norwich was shortlisted for the title on February 24, alongside Birmingham, Sheffield and Derry/Londonderry.
Liverpool's success as European Capital of Culture 2008 saw it attract 3.5m new visitors and boost the economy by an estimated £800m and could be a sign of things to come for the winning city.
